For the past twenty-one years John Heward and Sylvia Safdie have lived and
worked in the same building in Montreal. A continuous dialogue has
developed over the years that have resulted in various collaborations using
video, painting and sculpture. Some of these have been exhibited in
Montreal, Copenhagen, Chicago, Calgary, New York and Beijing.
In this exhibition Heward and Safdie have made work that is a meditation on absence and presence, mass and light, permanence and impermanence, similarities and differences, stillness and movement. As T.S. Eliot wrote ".a moment in and out of time". |
